STATE SENATE BUDGET COMMITTEE TO GET TESTIMONY FROM STOCKTON PRESIDENT

On Thursday Acting Stockton University President Harvey Kesselman is scheduled to testify before the N.J. Senate’s Budget Committee. Kesselman will attempt to answer questions about the purchase of the former Showboat Hotel/Casino for $18 million in December. Trump Entertainment has threatened to enforce a covenant on the site that states the land must be used for a casino hotel and not an island campus. The university has agreed to sell Showboat to developer Glenn Straub if Stockton can resolve the issue within 90 days.
