The minimum wage may be going up in New Jersey. The state senate voted on Thursday to increase the minimum wage in the Garden State to $8.50 per hour. The wage will increase every year based on the cost of living. The minimum wage is now slated to increase by a full $1.25 per hour. The increase was approved during a 23-16 vote on Thursday. The increase still has another hurdle; Governor Chris Christie has promised to veto the legislation since he wants the cost of living adjustments eliminated.
