The state said No to Atlantic City…again. Last week New Jersey officials rejected the city’s fiscal recovery plan and on Monday the city’s supplemental information was rejected as well. Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Charles Richman issued a 14-page reply to Atlantic City officials that stated the city’s plan is still too reliant on state aid to be successful. On Wednesday the state Local Finance Board will begin the process of taking over various portions of city government in order to solve their financial problems.
