STATE MINIMUM WAGE TO REMAIN AT $7.25 IN SHORE TERM

Increasing the minimum wage in New Jersey may happen, but not right away. The state legislature is going to fail to meet a July 1 deadline that legislative leaders had hoped to meet. Leaders are hoping to readdress the issue later this year. The current minimum wage is $7.25 per hour, but a new proposal would push it up to $8.50 per hour. The current minimum wage equals that of federal law.
