STATE LOTTERY COULD GO PRIVATE

The New Jersey Lottery could be the next victim of privatization. The Asbury Park Press reports that they have asked for bids from private companies to run the lottery. The report says the state could make $120 million upfront in the deal. A task force had been put together during Gov. Jon Corzine’s time in office, which suggested privatization of the lottery would benefit the state.
