A public hearing will be held on four issues that could become ballot questions this November. Lawmakers are pushing for proposed constitutional amendments including allowing casino gambling outside of just Atlantic City. Another constitutional amendment would force the state to make the necessary payments to the pension system, a move Gov. Chris Christie has said the state can’t do because it doesn’t have the money. Another potential amendment would force all state revenues coming from the gas tax to be dedicated to the transportation trust fund. A move that is being made in coordination with an expected proposal to raise the gas tax.
