One local tourism agency got the approval of a good job by the state. The Southern Shore Regional DMO is getting $141,000 in grant money, the second biggest award in the state. The organizations promotes Cumberland and Cape May counties. The Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority received $74,835. DMOs work with entertainment venues, restaurants, retail outlets, and hotels to promote a municipality or region’s historical, cultural, and artistic attractions. Each grant application is reviewed by an independent panel with granting, marketing, and tourism experience.
