STATE CONTINUES TO ADD JOBS AS UNEMPLOYMENT RATE CREEPS UP

The state saw an increase in hiring, but also an increase in the unemployment rate. New numbers released by the state show a new unemployment rate at 8.7 percent, which is up .1 percent from the last month. The state added 4,600 jobs in June, continuing positive hiring data. In total, the state has added more than 20,000 jobs in the past two months.
