STATE CONFIRMS CLOSING OF VINELAND CENTER

State officials came to Vineland on Tuesday and confirmed the anticipated closure of the Vineland Developmental Center.  Hundreds of residents showed up, angry at the state’s decision to close the center and forfeit the jobs that go along with the center.  Many spoke in favor of the developmentally challenged individuals who may be displaced by the center’s closure.  Governor Christie wants the center to close by the spring of 2013.
