New Jersey lawmakers are continuing to negotiate a final version of the new state budget that will be approved before the end of the month. The Star Ledger reports that new state budget figures show a $267 million shortfall in the budget and Governor Chris Christie says that shortfall will be made up. Christie announced during a town hall meeting in North Jersey Thursday afternoon that he insists on a vote on the new state budget by June 24th. The spending plan currently totals about $29.3 billion.
