Atlantic City is going to get more New Jersey support. Gov. Chris Christie, Senate President Steve Sweeney, and Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian announced a plan that involved more state intervention. Guardian said the partnership was the best option for the city to get its finances back in order. Bankruptcy could still be on the table for Atlantic City in the future if things can’t be worked out. All of the parties involved tried to avoid the word “take over.” The three leaders felt they were all working in good faith. Legislation still needs to be worked on to help Atlantic City, which Sweeney will take the lead on.
