STAR-LEDGER MAKES CUTS TO NEWSROOM STAFF AMID DECLINING REVENUE

More bad news for the newspaper industry. The Star-Ledger announced layoffs of almost ten percent of its newsroom staff on the paper’s website. In total, 34 employees were let go on Wednesday. The publisher blamed Hurricane Sandy and “an industry already hard hit by a steady decline in readership and sinking ad revenues.” The paper continues to plan to publish seven days a week at this time.
