Senate President Steve Sweeney
A new report says many Democrats are not on board in the senate with their leader. Senate President Steve Sweeney only has four of 23 Democrat votes to pass a plan he has to make public employees pay more into their health benefits, according to a story by the Star-Ledger. Gov. Chris Christie is calling for the change, but Sweeney’s plan is slightly different from the one being proposed by Christie. Many Democrats, including State Senator Jeff Van Drew, think Christie should have to collective bargain this issue with public unions.
