So long, Luis Castillo. The veteran second baseman was released today by the Philadelphia Phillies. Castillo was a castoff from the New York Mets and brought in by the Phillies to see if Castillo could hold down a roster spot while second baseman Chase Utley recovers from an injury. Phillies Manager Charlie Manuel announced today that Utley will be replaced by Wilson Valdez and Michael Martinez.
