The Philadelphia Phillies will play the first 25 games of the 2013 season without catcher Carlos Ruiz. Ruiz tested positive for an amphetamine, which means he gets an automatic suspension from Major League Baseball. Ruiz will not be paid during his suspension next season. He will be eligible to play in preseason games.
