Not so fast for sports betting in New Jersey. Representatives from major collegiate and professional sports organizations filed paperwork in court on Monday attempting to stop New Jersey’s efforts to offer legalized sports betting. They say New Jersey is again trying to avoid a federal law dating more than 20 years that prohibits sports betting in every state. Lawmakers approved the sports betting bill last week and Governor Christie signed it into law.
