SPORTS: EAGLES PUT FRANCHISE TAG ON QB MICHAEL VICK

The Philadelphia Eagles made it official on Tuesday, putting the franchise tag on quarterback Michael Vick. The Eagles announced that the desgination means Vick will be in a Philadelphia Eagles uniform for the 2011 season. Vick earned NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors in 2010. The Eagles also put the transition tag on placekicker David Akers, meaning the Eagles have the right to match any offer given to Akers during the offseason.
