SOUTHBOUND PARKWAY TRAFFIC SHUT DOWN FOLLOWING TRUCK ACCIDENT

State Police are responding to an accident on the Garden State Parkway. It took place at the Great Egg Harbor Bridge southbound, at mile post 27.5 in Upper Township. A construction dump truck lost control and went off the bridge on the right side. The person was freed from the truck just before 3 pm and flown to a nearby hospital. Police say only the driver was involved in the accident. State Police say the unidentified victim was conscious but it was unknown to the extent of the injuries. The fatal accident team is on scene, along with a State Police boat and local fire/EMS. Traffic has been shut down in this area due to the accident on the southbound lane of traffic.
