The South Jersey community of Carneys Point has filed a $1.1 billion lawsuit against DuPont. Carney’s Point alleges that DuPont sold off a local factory complex in order to avoid having to clean up various pollution with a price tag of over $1 billion. The lawsuit was filed in Superior Court last week and alleges that over 100 million pounds of toxic chemicals were spilled into the water and ground.
