We are not in an official drought just yet, but we are getting closer. There has been very little rain in our region over the past ten weeks and that has resulted in a four inch deficit in precipitation, according to meteorologists. State DEP officials say we continue to be in good shape with water supply so no drought declaration is coming immediately. Some northern New Jersey residents have already asked residents to conserve water as a precaution.
