A heavily used southbound exit on the Garden State Parkway in South Jersey is closed for good. The exit at Exit 88 in Lakewood is shut down as part of a project to restore shoulders to the Parkway in the Toms River area. Traffic to Route 70 is being diverted to a new service road at interchange 89; those drivers will of course pay a toll.
