A former Lower Township teacher and sports coach passed away on Wednesday at the age of 73. William Porter worked in the Wildwood Crest and Lower Township school district through most of his professional life. He was a football and wrestling coach for two decades while working with the Lower Township School District. Porter served in the United States Army from 1954-1957. He is survived by his wife and three sons. A viewing will take place on Friday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Cape May at noon, with a mass to follow at 3 p.m.
