This season’s American League MVP award will be announced Thursday at 6 p.m. and Millville’s Mike Trout is expecting his name to be read. On Monday, the former Millville Thunderbolt baseball star was named AL Rookie of the Year. His main competition for the MVP award is Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers, who became the first player to win baseball’s Triple Crown in the past 45 years.
