A Somers Point resident is facing a three count indictment, according to Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor. Monica Schaffer, faces two counts of theft in the second degree, and one count of conspiracy in the second degree. It is alleged that Schaffer had stolen money from her employment at Avalon Honda, over a 3 year period totaling more than $400,000. She was employed at Avalon Honda as a manager at the time. A second degree offense carries a potential sentence of up to ten years in the New Jersey State Prison. Schaffer is also charged with conspiring to commit the thefts with co-defendant Robert Gyeh.
