A new fare hike plan has been introduced by New Jersey Transit. The agency said that local bus and light rail riders would experience a 10 percent increase. Train rides would remain at the 25 percent increase. NJ Transit believes that local bus riders face the toughest financial hardships and if anything can be done, it should be done to help them. The increases are coming on the heels of an announcement by Gov. Chris Christie that $300 million would be taken from the agency.
