The Wildwood lodging industry has made it very clear that it doesn’t want beach tags. The Greater Wildwoods Hotel Motel Association issued a statement to the media last evening saying that it doesn’t want the city to consider adding beach tags. The group calls beach tags quote “regressive and inefficient”. Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano has floated the idea of the city exploring the beach tag issue. Currently Wildwood taxpayer pay for the maintenance and protection of the city’s beaches, which have been ranked number one in the latest statewide beach popularity survey.
