Some beaches in Cape May County had an unwelcome visitor on Tuesday morning..dead fish. Portions of beaches in Stone Harbor, North Wildwood, and parts of Avalon experienced a fish washup on Tuesday. The fish was bunker, and many of the fish had the heads and tails removed. The cause of the washup is very likely from a commercial fishing boat that may have used the bunker for bait. Public works crews cleaned the beaches of the fish earlier today; beaches were largely empty due to the stormy weather.
