A minor disruption in the school day for one Lower Township elementary school today. Students were evacuated from the David C. Douglass Memorial School in Lower Township shortly after 11:00am Wednesday. There was a small fire, believed to be electrical in nature, on top of the school. The Cape May County Herald reports that there was some smoke in the building and students were taken to a nearby recreation shelter. Students began returning to school before lunchtime.
