SLIGHT DELAY IN BUDGET DELIBERATIONS, STILL EXPECTED TO PASS ON TIME

The hope was that the Senate budget committee would have moved the state budget by now, but a small snag has caused delays. Negotiations are continuing and the hope is to get it done by the end of the week. Senator Jeff Van Drew who sits on the budget committee told 987 The Coast that he was comfortable with the budget being on the governor’s desk by the end of the month. The deadline for a new budget to be in place is July 1.
