The Philadelphia 76ers have a new head basketball coach. The team announced that Doug Collins has been hired to coach the team; reports say the length of the contract is four years. Sixers General Manager Ed Stefanski announced today that Collins has been hired, and a press conference is scheduled for Monday. Collins was a former number one draft choice for the Sixers, and coached three other NBA teams. To date, Collins has never coached a team to the NBA Finals. Recently he has worked as a television analyst for TNT.
