Six members of the U.S. Air National Guard’s 177th Fighter Wing in Egg Harbor Township were sent to the hospital as a precaution after a possible chemical exposure. The personnel were working on an F-16 Emergency Power Unit, which provides power to the jet aircraft in case of engine failure. The toxic chemical hydrazine was released at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The six airmen were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, from the Air National Guard base at Atlantic City International Airport.
