SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN HAMILTON TOWNSHIP

A Thursday evening accident involved a single vehicle in Hamilton Township. The early investigation found that Nicholas Taylor, of Mays Landing, was traveling north on New York Ave. when the vehicle left the roadway on the northbound shoulder. The vehicle continued a short distance across the northbound shoulder and came to an uncontrolled position of final rest after striking a series of trees. Taylor sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City by the Hamilton Township Rescue Squad. Taylor was charged with driving under the influence and other related motor vehicle offenses. Traffic was diverted around the area for approximately one hour while the accident was investigated and the scene was cleared of debris.
