SHUT DOWN TAKES PLACE AT NUCLEAR REACTOR

A new report says a nuclear reactor has been shut down once again because of “grassing.” “Today’s Sunbeam” reports that vegetation was found in the Salem 1 nuclear reactor and it was turned off on Saturday and remains off. The reactor exists in Lower Alloways Creek Township. The grassing is vegetation, like weeds, that become dislodged and block the flow of water to the intake valves.
