SHOWBOAT THE LATEST CASINO TO CLOSE ITS DOORS

The Atlantic City casino market took another staggering blow right before the weekend.  Employees who work at the Showboat Casino are being told on Friday that the casino will close its doors and discontinue operations.  The Showboat opened back in 1987 but has struggled in recent years.  The casino will issue notices to its employees; no closing date is yet known.  This will be the second casino closing in Atlantic City in 2014.
