A beach fill project in North Wildwood took a wrong turn Friday morning, literally. Coastal Broadcasting was the first on the scene of an incident involving a dump truck filled with sand that went into the ocean at the Third Avenue beachfront in the city this morning. The truck made the turn and went into the ocean, filled with sand. The driver of the truck is out of the cab and appears to be uninjured. We will have more details when they become available.
Sources have told us that the North Wildwood Beach Patrol was involved in the rescue of the driver and that the truck may have suffered a mechanical failure causing it to wind up in the ocean.
