Legislation in Trenton is starting to get some traction that would impose the same sales and use taxes on short-term rentals through websites like Airbnb that hotels and motels impose. More than 250,000 guests used Airbnb last year in New Jersey. Some argue that all rooms that are operating in a short term manner should be subject to the same rules.
