A 70-year-old has been arrested for a shooting that occurred on Church Rd. in Middle Township. Police responded on Tuesday to 38 Church Rd. and found a 62-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to her chest. A 59-year-old male was also on the scene and not injured. William Ries was the landlord for the two that were staying in a rear apartment. Police say that Ries, fired two rounds from a handgun striking the female in the chest. A court authorized search warrant executed at 38 Church Rd. resulted in the seizure of a .38 caliber revolver. Ries was charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and weapons possession charges. Ries was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500,000 cash bail.
