SHEPPARD SET TO BECOME FIRST FEMALE SURROGATE OF CAPE MAY COUNTY

A Cape May County Freeholder will be giving up her post at the end of the year. Freeholder Susan Sheppard won election as surrogate and will be sworn in on Dec. 31. Freeholder Vice-Director M. Susan Sheppard will become the 21st Surrogate and the first female Surrogate in Cape May County’s history. Sheppard will replace W. Robert Hentges who has served as Surrogate of Cape May County for more than forty years, having first been elected to the position in 1972.
