Anthony Marino is the new Chief of Police for the City of Cape May. Council met on Monday and named Marino the new Chief during a split vote. Councilman Shane Meier cast the dissenting vote. Cape May has struggled publicly with this issue after it failed to appoint Robert Sheehan to the position that he held on an acting basis. Former members of City Council and even a police chief from another community lobbied Council to appoint Sheehan to the position.
