If you observe the men in your life to be unshaven this November, they probably joined a cause to fight cancer. This month has been labelled “No Shave November”, a program launched in conjunction with the American Cancer Society to raise cancer awareness. Members of the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office are participating in the program, along with other local law enforcement agencies who have strict policies against facial hair. The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Money usually spent on shaving and grooming for a month is then donated to educate the public about cancer prevention.
