The former mayor of Newark was released from prison on Tuesday. Sharpe James is out of prison, after serving 18 months. He will spend the rest of his sentence in a halfway house in Newark. He was found guilty of selling city property to his girlfriend, who in turn sold it for a large profit, making about $600,000 on the sale. James said he is interested in working with Cory Booker, the current mayor of the city, for the good of Newark. He did not rule out a run in politics again. James beat Booker once before in an election.
