A multi-alarm fire struck several businesses and apartments Tuesday night in Atlantic City, leaving seventeen people displaced. Fire officials say the fire broke out just after 10 p.m. in the AC Alterations business on the 1100 block of Atlantic City. Everyone escaped safely, even though the roof of one of the buildings collapsed. High wind gusts caused problems for firefighters who were still hosing down hot spots nearly eight hours after the fire started. Investigators are on the scene looking for the cause of the blaze.
