Now that Governor Chris Christie has announced his re-election plans, Democrats need to choose their candidate for 2013. According to sources close to Senate President Stephen Sweeney, the Star-Ledger says he plans to run for governor if Newark Mayor Corey Booker declines. Booker has not yet made the decision to run and trails Christie by almost 20 points in two recent polls. Sweeney has been NJ Senate President for nearly three years.
