The state’s highest ranking Democrat put his foot in his mouth while trying to get a jab in at Gov. Chris Christie. During a press conference on Monday, Senate President Steve Sweeny said that Christie “prayed a lot and got lucky” with Hurricane Sandy hitting New Jersey. Sweeney was trying to make a point that the state was in bad economic shape before the storm and Christie now has an out. Sweeney quickly apologized for the choice of words.
