Numbers released on Thursday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement showed that eight of the twelve Atlantic City casinos made a profit in the second quarter of 2013. Leading the way was the Tropicana, with a gain in operating profits of 28 percent, and Caesars’ profits were up by 17 percent. Year-to-date numbers were not good, as gross profits for all casinos were down by 45 percent compared to the second quarter of last year.
