Former Education Commissioner Bret Schundler released a number of documents that he says shows he was telling the truth. Gov. Chris Christie said Schundler was not telling the truth when Schundler said he never told Christie that his team fixed an answer with the “Race to the Top” officials that eventually coast New Jersey $400 million. Schundler released e-mail correspondence and a chronological timeline to show how he told the Governor and members of his staff that a mistake was made in their application. Christie claims that Schundler told him in a conversation following these e-mails. Schundler said he wanted to defend his name by releasing these documents.
