On Tuesday night the Pleasantville Board of Education voted to suspend their district superintendent during a private session. According to a report in The Press of Atlantic City, that Superintendent Garnell Bailey is the subject of an ongoing investigation. The school board also voted to retain a special council but no details about the investigation were released to the public. Both votes were reportedly 5-4 and Bailey is now on administrative leave. Patricia Sofia, a former district employee was appointed as acting superintendent.
