SATURDAY’S WASHOUT CREATED MAJOR ROAD PROBLEMS

Heavy rains in New Jersey Saturday night created some traffic problems.  The Garden State Parkway was closed just north of Exit 36 in both directions due to flooding on the highway.  Speed restrictions were in effect on the New Jersey Turnpike.  For a short time Saturday evening, the roadway in Avalon leading to the Townsend’s Inlet Bridge was closed due to waves breaking on the roadway.
