SANDY DAMAGE: $2.2 MILLION TO PORT AUTHORITY

The damage from Hurricane Sandy absorbed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey?  $2.2 billion dollars.  Agency officials confirmed the new updated loss numbers nearly one full year after the storm flooded tunnels and shut down mass transit.  Another step towards recovery is a $50 million power washing of the trans-Hudson railway.
