Lost in the rush to avoid the “fiscal cliff” in the lame-duck session of Congress, was the package of aid for victims of Hurricane Sandy. The House of Representatives adjourned without taking a vote on the $60 billion aid package that was passed in the Senate to help victims of the super-storm. The House split the bill into two parts; part one would provide $27 billion for immediate recovery needs and part two offered $33 billion for long-term recovery work.
